We successfully worked with the architect and the customer to design and build an extension that provided additional space for a new kitchen diner. The challenge was to create a modern feel to the extension internally, but still provide something that complimented the original building. This was achieved by matching the existing brickwork and installing new aluminium bifold doors that added a modern twist to the overall design. Internally one of the walls was left as unfinished brickwork as a neat contrast the rest of the internal finishes.
We installed a new kitchen complete with worktops and appliances to the clients specification. This was complimented by a tiled floor throughout the extension to provide a practical and stylish finish. In order to make the most of the available space we installed vaulted ceilings that followed the pitch of the roof. Velux rooflights were added, again to maximise the amount of natural light entering the dining area.
As with all of the older types of houses that we work on access and storage on site were a particular challenge. Deliveries needed to be planned and coordinated as the build progressed. Likewise rubbish and waste needed to removed on a regular basis. We pride ourselves on the overall cleanliness of our sites and believe that directly reflects on the attention that we pay to our work.
